Eighth generation Rolls Royce Phantom to be unveiled

Eighth generation Rolls Royce Phantom to be unveiled tomorrow.....

The rich and famous can now rejoice as Rolls Royce will bring out a new generation Phantom and it will be unveiled tomorrow. This is the eight generation for the most luxurious four-door Rolls Royce that money can buy and the second one to come out under the ownership of BMW.

Leaked images reveal an evolutionary design, but with enough elements to separate the new car from the outgoing model. New bits include the head lamps, grille and design of the wheels. The cabin too has been updated and will get digital displays for the instrument cluster as well as a massive screen for the infotainment system. There are no photos of the rear seats but we know that in true Rolls-Royce form, it is going to be out of this world! Powering this 8th generation beast will be a 6.2-litre V12 which is expected to produce 500Nm and around 800Nm of torque with power going to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox.

There aren’t really any cars to compare the Phantom with as it is considered to be one of the pinnacles of automotive luxury. Realistically, if you had to look at some rivals, we could list the Bentley Mulsanne as well as the Maybach Pullman from Mercedes-Benz.

It is India bound - that is for sure and it is likely to be showcased at the BMW stall during the 2018 Auto Expo in Delhi.

All-new 2018 Rolls-Royce Phantom teased

Rolls-Royce, the maker of some of the most luxurious and revered cars in the world, has been working on the successor of the Phantom that marked the resurgence of the brand in 2003. Rolls-Royce has teased the all-new Phantom which will be the eighth generation car and will be known as the Phantom VIII.
Rolls-Royce has worked on a new aluminium-infused spaceframe chassis construction to keep the weighing scale in check. With lighter materials and spaceframe construction, the new Roller should be able to lose a big chunk of weight, something that will help it fit into the stricter emission and efficiency norms to be enforced in the future as well.
The spaceframe construction will also allow the Rolls to have better driving dynamics thanks to the improved blend of chassis flex and rigidity. It will also help Rolls-Royce improve the magic-carpet ride quality. The 6.75-litre V12 petrol engine will continue to power the Phantom VIII and will certainly be more powerful than ever.
Being the world’s most luxurious car, creature comforts will be in abundance and buyers will be offered a wide choice of materials and finishes for their Rollers. It will also be a part of the Bespoke programme that offers an even wider range of customisation and personalisation of the Rolls-Royce cars.
The Phantom VIII will premiere next week at ‘The Great Eight Phantoms’ exhibition at Bonhams, London with the Queens Phantom VI State Limousine, the Aga Khan Hooper-built Sedanca de Ville Phantom IV and the first ever Phantom VII that was shipped out of Goodwood in 2003.

End of Vintage Cars  In Delhi?

The Supreme Court of India has rejected the appeal for re-registration of a 20-year-old Rolls Royce driving the final nail in the coffins of vintage and classic cars in Delhi. The renewal of registration has been denied following the National Green Tribunal’s (NGT) diktat for the ban of cars over 15 years of age from plying on Delhi roads.
This is the same mindless diktat that banned the sale of diesel vehicles with engine capacity above 2000cc in the national capital. The diktat came as a knee-jerk reaction after the air quality index plummeted during winter, also sparking the odd-even rule in Delhi.
The NGT fails to understand that the major reasons for the bad air quality in Delhi are a result of the unabated emissions from industries, illegal kilns and crop burning in the neighbouring states of Punjab and Haryana before their sowing season. The next biggest polluters are the old commercial vehicles and ill-maintained public transport that spew ten times more pollutants than passenger cars.
Now that the Supreme Court has endorsed the hare-brained scheme of the NGT, vintage and classic car enthusiasts will now have to undergo the cumbersome process of registering their cars in nearby states, away from NCR, if they are keen on retaining their collection.

AND THE CAR IS SOME THING LIKE THIS!!!!!

2017 Land Rover Discovery

2017 Land Rover Discovery India Launch In Festive Season:

The SUV Is Expected To Hit The Market In October 2017 With 3.0-Litre Petrol And Diesel Engines, Each Available In Three Variants:

It’s been a while since Land Rover’s all-new Discovery showed up on the brand’s Indian website. Now, though, the time for speculation ends as we finally have an official confirmation that the SUV will go on sale during the festive season this year.

Getting back to the feature list, the new Land Rover Discovery’s package includes full-LED headlights, a 10-inch ‘inControl Touch Pro’ infotainment screen paired with a 10-speaker Meridian sound system, leather upholstery and heated seats for all 3 rows.
Also included is the Intelligent Seat Fold technology, through which the second and third rows can be reconfigured using the infotainment touchscreen or even remotely using a smartphone, in addition to the switches on the C-pillar! Simply put, it makes the cabin more versatile and lets you adapt the seats based on how many passengers/how much and what kind of luggage you have.
The Discovery also gets a new powerplant - the 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder Ingenium diesel engine that makes 240PS and 500Nm of torque. However, at least at launch, we expect it to be offered in more powerful avatars.
The Discovery diesel and petrol are likely to use 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder engines. The TD6 diesel engine makes 258PS of power and 600Nm of torque, while the Si6 petrol engine makes 340PS and 450Nm of torque. Both engines will come paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

To state the obvious, the new Discovery will offer good off-roading pedigree. Apart from a maximum ground clearance of 283mm and a water wading depth of 900mm, the new Discovery also employs Land Rover’s Terrain Response system which adapts the 4WD system through a range of drive modes.

As per our sources, the SUV will be offered in three variants – S, SE and HSE, with prices likely to start around Rs 70 lakh and going up to around Rs 90 lakh

COMING SURPRISE FROM NISSAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nissan Wants You to Drive With Just One Pedal!!!!!!!!

Tired Of Using Both Your Legs While Driving? Buy An Automatic. Or Even Better, You Could Buy The Upcoming Second-Gen Nissan Leaf With An E-Pedal!!!!

Ever wondered why car buyers these days prefer automatics to manual transmissions in India? Well, to put it simply, it’s because they let you relax your left foot completely, a handy feature considering the ever growing stop-and-go traffic conditions in most of our cities! While automatic transmissions removed the clutch pedal from the car, how cool would it be if you could just drive with one pedal? A pedal that could function both as an accelerator as well as for applying the brake. Nissan seems to be ahead of us and has announced that it will equip the upcoming second-generation Leaf electric vehicle (EV), set to make its world debut on September 6, 2017,  with what it calls the ‘e-pedal’

So How Does The E-Pedal Work?

The e-Pedal is essentially your accelerator pedal, which at the flip of a switch now takes on the duty of slowing the car down as well. The e-pedal interprets the way you lift your foot off the accelerator to slow the car down accordingly. While we are used to cars coasting or rolling ahead unless brakes are applied this could be an intuitive way to control forward movement! The reason for debuting this on the Leaf would be that on electric vehicles the electric motors are also largely responsible for braking duties and would blend into one seamless and efficient operation.
While other electric vehicles like the Chevrolet Bolt utilises paddles to activate stronger regenerative braking, Nissan is taking the concept into another dimension. It sounds a bit sci-fi and spaceship cool. And, we like it. Sure, it might take some retraining of the brain to get it right at first. However, the right foot, unlike the left, is used to making many fine modulations of the brake and throttle pedals, and should cope just fine.
  • India-Bound Nissan X-Trail Facelift Revealed......
Nissan introduced the first-gen Leaf EV back in 2010. It’s not only the world’s first mass market EV, but also the best-selling electric vehicle with more than 2,77,000 units sold so far.

Crash Tested Again: Ford Mustang

Crash Tested Again: Ford Mustang Scores 3-Star Euro NCAP Rating....

Upgraded Pony Car Performs Better Than Crash Tests Conducted In January This Year Where It Scored A Dismal 2-Star Rating....

The current-gen Ford Mustang was first crash tested in January this year and Euro NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme) gave it a two-star safety rating out of a possible five. Clearly, Ford was disappointed and immediately made it clear to the testing body that an upgraded version of the Mustang was on its way. People who placed their orders July 2017 onwards will now get their hands on the upgraded version. Well, Euro NCAP was happy to wait and has now reassessed the upgraded Ford Mustang. The overall safety rating has now been upped to three stars out of five.
Compare the two crash test results and you’ll notice that the adult and child occupant safety, at 72 per cent and 32 per cent respectively, is exactly the same. So what did Ford do to get that extra star on the safety rating? Well, it has added Pre Collision Assist (with Pedestrian Detection, Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking) and Lane Keeping Aid. Thanks to these safety features, which are now part of the standard kit, the pedestrian and safety assist scores have jumped from 64 per cent and 16 per cent to 78 per cent and 61 per cent respectively. Ford made no changes to the car’s structure and the rest of it remains exactly the same.

Apart from the new gizmos, the Ford Mustang’s safety kit includes seatbelts with pretensioners and load limiters, seatbelt reminders, front, knee, side head, side chest and side pelvis airbags for the driver and front passenger. The front passenger also has an airbag cut-off switch. The only safety tech for rear occupants are a pair of side head airbags because the seatbelts don’t feature pretensioners and load limiters. There isn’t even a reminder for the rear seatbelts either. For the child occupant, there are ISOFIX anchorages for a booster seat but no CRS (child restraint seats).
A three-star rating is still nothing to brag about since even the budget Ford sold in Europe, the KA+ (what we know as the Figo), too gets the same rating.

Mercedes-Benz X-Class Debuts In South Africa

Mercedes-Benz X-Class:

It Is The First Ever Pickup From The Stuttgart-Based Auto Giant:

As soon as we hear the work ‘pickup’ in the automotive industry, we immediately relate it to big, brash American offerings with huge engines and even huger footprints. Even in India, we have some pickups to choose from the likes of the Tata Xenon XTMahindra Scorpio Getaway and the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross. But no matter what the case may be, we never relate a German carmaker to that body style. Until now! Say hello to the Mercedes-Benz X-Class - the first ever pickup from the Stuttgart-based auto giant.

Wearing the three-pointed star at the front, it also bags the tag of the world’s first premium pickup. While the concept of the X-Class was unveiled in October last year, Mercedes-Benz debuted the production-ready spec of the pickup in Cape Town, South Africa. Apart from the African nation, Mercedes-Benz will sell the X-Class in Australia, South America and Europe.

Updated S-Class Coupe and Cabriolet expected at the Frankfurt Motor Show

Updated S-Class Coupe and Cabriolet expected at the Frankfurt Motor Show:

In line with Mercedes-Benz refreshing the S-Class sedan for 2018, the Coupe and Cabriolet versions will also undergo the same treatment before these facelifted models are showcased at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
Since the updates are basically going to be borrowed from the S-Class sedan, the Coupe and Cabriolet models will get the S-Class’ design and tech tweaks. Things like the more aggressive nose section, new alloys, extra luxury features, and functions such as semi-autonomous driving technology will be offered.
The upcoming S-Class Coupe and Cabriolet will also get a new range of engines that include the 4.0-litre V8 motor that will be available in two power outputs. One for the regular model and the other for the AMG version. At the top of the range will be the V12 motor that powers the S600 and AMG S65 models. As of now, it isn’t clear as to whether both models will get all the engine options.
Pricing for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe and Cabriolet should be slightly higher when compared to the current car, especially when you factor in the extra features and driving aides that will be made available.

2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet spotted testing

The current generation of Mercedes-Benz S-Class flagship was introduced in 2013. The mid-life update of the S-Class Sedan has been caught testing a few times in Germany, but now the S-class Cabriolet has been spotted undergoing cold-weather tests at the Arctic Circle.

The S-Class saloon would be the first to be updated, followed shortly by the S-Class Coupe. The S-Class Cabrio will follow suit. So here we can see the test mule with cladded front and rear bumpers, updated taillights and possibly even new headlight signature. But the most prominent and important changes will be on the inside.
The new S-Class family will come with a single widescreen system, stretching from instrument cluster to centre console, dominating the dashboard. It is similar to one seen on the Mercedes-Maybach vehicles sans the buttons. The centre console will feature a redesigned interface with a new touchpad surface. Another update for the facelifted S-Class will be the use of a new steering wheel that looks sportier than what’s being offered as of now.
As far as the engine line-up is concerned, Mercedes-Benz is expected to equip the facelifted S-Class with a new range of engines. It is speculated that the existing V6 engines will be replaced by new inline-six petrol units. The Cabriolet range could get the new 4.0-litre V8 engine.
The updated Luxo-barge will debut this year as a 2018 model year. It was rumoured to be showcased at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, but that seems unlikely. Mercedes-Benz will bring the new and updated S-Class to India right after it goes on sale internationally.

Toyota monsoon car care campaign

Toyota monsoon car care campaign is starting on 17 July 2017

As part of customer service initiative, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) is organising the ‘Monsoon Car Care Campaign’ across all states in eastern India. The campaign offers free monsoon vehicle checkup, 15 per cent discount on car care treatments and assured gifts on purchase of extended warranty. The camp begins on 17 July and will continue till 16 August.

Speaking about the launch of the Monsoon Campaign, B. Padmanabha, Vice President (customer Service Group) - Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said, “We are committed to the highest quality of customer service at every single touch point. The ‘Monsoon Car Care Campaign’ with an exciting array of offers is yet another effort by us to ensure that every customer gets the best ownership experience and after-sales support with maximum benefits throughout the vehicle life-cycle. Safety is of utmost priority to us and we always ensure complete support towards vehicle maintenance for a safe and trouble-free monsoon drive. Through this special services campaign, we look forward to providing the best-in-town experience to our customers at all times.  We wish to express our gratitude to our customers for their great trust and most admiration for our world-class products and services.

Toyota customers can reach out to their nearest dealerships for more details. The Japanese car manufacturer has a strong product line-up in the country which includes – Etios, Etios Liva, Corolla Altis, Camry, Innova and the Fortuner. SUVs like the Prado, Land Cruiser and Prius are sold as CBUs in India.

Maruti and Toyota take the biggest hits due to GST:

Car manufacturers have come out with price cuts post-GST, but the clouds of uncertainty surrounding the new tax regime had already begun to dampen the spirits for some time now. As a part of damage control measures, car makers had stopped despatching stocks to dealers and it seems that Maruti and Toyota were at the forefront.
Maruti Suzuki’s wholesale figures are down from 1.3 lakh units in May 2016 to 93,057 units in June, by about 30 per cent. Toyota despatched only 1,973 cars in June as against the 10,914 in the month of May – that´s almost an 80 per cent dip month on month. Hyundai’s sales dropped from 42,007 units to 37,562 units, down by just 10 per cent.
Surprisingly, Honda managed to despatch 12,804 units in June, almost 1,500 units more than it sold in the month of May, despite the lack of clarity in GST. For other manufacturers, the sales have shrunk marginally and the impact of GST has not been as big as it was being touted before its implementation.
With manufacturers slashing prices and the despatches back on schedule, the slow month of July might actually set the tone for the festive season, beginning in September. There´s a good likelihood that the year 2017-18 might set new records for annual car sales.

GST effect - Toyota drops prices across models, hybrid price hiked:

Japanese carmaker Toyota has revised prices across its product line-up in the country to pass on GST benefits to its customers. Effective from 1 July 2017, Toyota has reduced its car prices by a considerable margin, except for the hybrids which have now become more expensive. The revised prices varies from city to city, depending on the tax structures that have been prevalent before introducing GST.

In Mumbai, Toyota Liva is now cheaper by Rs 65 thousand and the Etios attracts a discount of Rs 75 thousand. Customers who have been eager for the Etios Cross or the Camry petrol, can get it cheaper by Rs 61 thousand and Rs 3.33 lakh respectively. Popular selling models like the Innova Crysta and the Corolla Altis, are now discounted by Rs 2.0 lakh and Rs 2.08 lakh respectively. The new GST taxes on SUVs larger than 4-metres and are powered by larger engines, which will now attract 43 per cent. That´s 12 per cent lower than the earlier rates. This explains why Toyota Fortuner and the Land Cruiser Prado attract lucrative discounts of Rs 3.26 lakh and Rs 12.29 lakh, respectively.

Toyota’s hybrid cars like the Prius and the Camry hybrid have, however, become more expensive by Rs 75 thousand and Rs 1.58 lakh respectively. The hike is particularly higher by over Rs 3.5 lakh in Bangalore and up to 5.24 lakh in Delhi, as the capital earlier had a lower pre-GST rates for hybrid vehicles. Moreover, Delhi-NCR also witnesses smaller price reductions on regular models as they have always been priced lower as compared to the other cities.

Rolls-Royce Cullinan front-end look revealed,

Rolls-Royce Cullinan front-end look revealed in spy shots..........

The Rolls-Royce Cullinan has been spotted again, this time undergoing final testing in the north of Europe before it goes on sale in 2018. Previous glimpses of this ultra-luxurious SUV have all been of the car wearing a Phantom shaped disguise, rather than the taller, more imposing car shown here.

Dubbed 'project Cullinan' and likely to use that name for production, this is Rolls Royce’s first high-riding model. In its press release Rolls-Royce says that the Cullinan is officially set to be "assessed on public roads in various locations around the world". The testing phase will ensure the SUV delivers Rolls-Royce's trademark 'magic-carpet' ride on a variety of surfaces and that it is resilient to extreme weather conditions.

Rolls-Royce confirmed development of an all-new aluminium architecture for the Cullinan earlier this year. The new platform will eventually be used for the next-generation Phantom, and the announcement that production of the current model has stopped confirms this. An all-new suspension system is being primed for the production Cullinan, too, alongside the all-wheel-drive system.

Like the Bentley Bentayga, this new ultra luxurious model will carry an elite status among the raft of premium SUVs that are already on sale. We expect the production-spec model to go on sale in 2018.

may rolls Royce look something like this when its completed

WHO KNOWS BUT PLEASE HOLD YOUR PATIONS BECAUSE THIS CAR IS GOING TO BE LAUNCHED IN 2018!!!

HURACÁN PERFORMANTE RAGING TECHNOLOGY

LAMBORGHINI`S HURACAN PERFORMANTE,LAUNCHING IN 2018...

OVERVIEW
The Huracán Performante has reworked the concept of super sports cars and taken the notion of performance to levels never seen before. The vehicle has been re-engineered in its entirety, as regards its weight, engine power, chassis and above all by introducing an innovative system of active aerodynamics: ALA. The combination of these modifications and the skilled work of the team at Lamborghini, took the Huracán Performante to complete a lap at Nürburgring in 00:06:52:01 setting a new record for best lap and becoming the fastest standard production car at the Shrine of Speed.

EMOTION
Just hop in and drive to understand that the Performante is different from all the other Huracán models, as it was designed with one thing in mind: to be the fastest. The car has been completely updated, improving the engine, increasing the performance of the steering and suspension, using ultra-lightweight materials, and introducing an innovative active aerodynamic system in order to improve the performance level and driving experience.

EXTERIOR DESIGN
All the new features of the Huracán Performante express performance. The front and rear spoilers, made entirely of Forged Composites®, enable the aerodynamics to be actively exploited to achieve maximum performance by increasing or decreasing the downforce as required. The new, even lighter wheel rims hold the new Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres, providing incredible grip.

INTERIOR
The interior fully reflects the character of the Huracán Performante, that is to say being the fastest. The interior fittings are made from the highest quality materials: the seats are made of carbon fiber, the interior parts of Forged Composites®, and the upholstery is made from Alcantara. All extremely light materials which contribute to and increase performance.

DRIVING DYNAMICS
There are many aspects that make this car the highest expression of the new concept of super sports car. The even more powerful V10 engine, massive use of Forged Composites® to make it even lighter in weight, the LDF 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and the new ALA active aerodynamic system that controls air and directs it in its favor. It has ruled the circuit. Now it will rule your road.

ENGINE
Totally renovated and redesigned with fluid dynamics optimized at both intake and exhaust, this engine is the aspirated V10 with the highest specific power. The new intake ducts come directly from Lamborghini Motorsport’s experience and improve response at all speeds. The double clutch transmission (LDF) has been further perfected and now is able to support even the highest performance. All this wrapped up in the even more vibrant and thrilling sound of the new lightened exhaust system.

ALA
Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva is a smart and innovative system that manages active aerodynamics. ALA adapts to the driving style and type of route. When necessary, it increases vertical load to assist stability and speed through curves, or it reduces aerodynamic resistance to assist acceleration and reaching the top speed.

SUSPENSION
The double wishbone architecture of the Huracán Performante's suspension systems guarantees perfect balance between usability of the vehicle and sports performance. The standard suspension is also teamed up with an optional system of magnetorheological shock absorbers that instantaneously respond to driving style and adapt to the road conditions and driving dynamics, improving control over the vehicle, especially on the circuit.

STEERING
The Huracán Performante is equipped with Electronic Power Steering (EPS), a system that perfectly adapts to all driving styles and that always ensures the right power assistance on both track and road, following all ANIMA driving modes. The innovative Lamborghini Dynamic Steering (LDS) system is also available as an option. It lets you dynamically change the steering ratio, especially in CORSA mode, to get a more direct response on the circuit.

TRANSMISSION
Imagine you could have two gearboxes in the same unit: while one gear is engaged, the next is already selected to reduce shifting time and be sure the shift occurs instantaneously and in the smoothest way possible, by opening one clutch and closing the other. This is what the Huracán Performante is able to offer you, thanks to its 7-speed Lamborghini Doppia Frizione (LDF) dual-clutch transmission.

FORGED COMPOSITES
Forged Composites® is one of the secrets of the new Huracán Performante’s performance. It is the lightest and most resistant and innovative material that Automobili Lamborghini uses today, and allows components with complex geometries at the heart of the front and rear structures of the ALA to be made.
